Cover Letter for Judical Clerk
Summer clerkship cover letters are written by law students to take up a job in the summer vacation. These jobs not only provide hands-on experience to law students but also prove very effective while combining theoretical knowledge with practical cases. Judicial clerkship jobs help sharpen the student’s skills and make them better lawyers in future.
The openings for summer clerkship are generally published by law firms in the newspapers. They can also be published in law college magazines and chronicles as these firms look forward to hire the students in bulk to finish their pending clerical jobs.
Candidates can also opt to work under a certain lawyer or judge as a clerk. While sending resumes it is also beneficial if a cover letter is accompanied with it. Cover letters would clarify a lot of doubts from the employers mind before hiring the candidate.
Candidates should also make a point to briefly explain their educational background, their interest and why they would like to take up the job or work under the said firm.

Dear Mr. Jameson,
Please consider the enclosed copy of my resume as an application for the position of a law clerk with your firm. I learned from Professional Development that you plan to hire a first-year law student next summer. I am pleased to discover that your firm practices in the area of municipal law and this area is of particular interest to me.
As an intern for the City of Indianapolis during college, I helped create and evaluate the city-wide facility needs assessment survey. Participating in this survey gave me a greater understanding of the Indianapolis community even though I have lived in the city all my life.
I am very interested in this position and would appreciate the opportunity to further discuss this matter during an interview. I will be in Indianapolis over the mid-winter break, December 15 to January 9, 2005-06, and would appreciate if you call me for an interview during this time, at your convenience. I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.
Sincerely,
Vernon J. Kendrick.

Dear Mr. Gray,
I am a first year law student at the Stanley University College of law and would be moving to Arvada for the summers. I understand that your firm is offering summer internship opportunities for law students and I wish to apply for the same.
I am also happy to discover the fact that your firm extensively practices in family court cases and I have a keen interest in this field. I had prepared a project in the beginning of my term where I had presented my research in few family court cases such as dissolutions of marriage, issues regarding child custody, child and partner abuse and disputes with parenting time schedules.
I would be glad if you consider me for this post as I am willing to put all my efforts to utilize the opportunity of working with your firm. If you think I am a suitable candidate for the job, please call me on the above number to set up a convenient time for an interview.
I would be visiting Arvada next week between, May 27 and June 2, 2011 and would call you once I reach there. I look forward to meet with you and thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Tony N. Brooks.
