Cover Letter for Pharma Jobs
A cover letter is a piece of document that is written for various purposes like; job acceptance, Job acknowledgement, job denial, salary negotiation, resignation, thanking the employer and many more.
You have to be very careful about the type of language and linguistics that you will be using while writing a cover letter. General things like your vocabulary, grammar, sentence construction, etc are very important because it is the language that will attract the eyes of the reader at the first glance. If your language is wrong and there occurs some miscommunication then your cover letter may break rather than make your resume. So it is always advised that you proof read your letter before sending it or ask anyone, who has a good command over language, to check your letter.
Care has to be taken to see that you don't get into decorating your letter with flowery language just for the purpose of impressing the reader. A cover letter has to be formal and properly formatted and structured in order to avoid giving any wrong signals to the reader. A cover letter must be tailored in such a way that it just not beat around the bush and go round and round about the topic but must hit the bull's eye. The point must hit the target in a few sentences rather than drooling over same sentences again and again.
A thank you cover letter is written under the following circumstances:
- To thank the employer for selecting you for the post.
- To thank the employer for accepting your salary negotiation or appreciation proposal.
- To thank a referrer who had given you suggestion to post your resume etc.
Given below is a sample thank you cover letter to referrer. In this type of cover letter you have to thank the referrer for giving you valuable suggestions and helping you in drafting your resume. He may also have given you information regarding the company. So when you will post your resume for a company you will be referring the name of the person who had given you the reference.
In the below given sample thank you letter, a person his thanking his/her internship mentor for referring him/her to a pharmaceutical company. In such a cover letter you have to address the referrer with his/her designation and other contact details. You will have to write that you would be following his/her suggestions while drafting the resume. You can also ask permission to mention his/her name in your resume in the reference section.
Given below is a sample cover letter that will help you in creating a good thank you cover letter. You are requested to make necessary changes in the resume as per your situation.

Dear Mr. Flaming,
First of all I would like to thank you for taking out some time from your busy schedule to take my matter into consideration. Our long discussion on yesterday regarding my career goals proved really beneficial for me. It will surely help me in drafting my resume in a much different and much better way. Now that I am very clear about my career goals I will see to it that I mention them correctly in my resume. I am sure that it will give a clear picture to the employer about my goals.
Secondly, I am writing this letter to seek your permission to mention your name in the reference section. I hope that you would grant me permission for the same. I assure you that I will follow your suggestions on pursuing the internship program before starting up with a job. I will definitely keep you posted with all the details and a will also send you a copy of my resume in a day or two.
Sincerely,
Hilary Williams.
