Cover Letter for Students
Cover letters for students include all the applications that candidate apply for after coming out of college or before completing a degree. In short they are written by freshers who do not possess any major experience in the said field they are applying for. Candidate's skills and qualifications play a major role in grabbing the correct job opportunity in this category.
These cover letters should highlight the candidate's education and why the candidate is interested to pursue a career in the specific field. The letter should be drafted in a professional manner and the applicant should make the employer aware that they are quite matured to accept the challenges of the job and also interested to learn from the job.
Candidate's dedication to work should also be reflected in the cover letter. They should be ready to put extra efforts and work for more time in the initial stages as it forms the building block in shaping their career.
Given below are sample resume cover letters for students. They can be used as a reference by candidates before drafting a letter.

Date: May 1, 2005.
Mr. Gilberto F. Williams,
National Inc.,
2554 Maple Avenue,
Nezperce, ID 83543.
Dear Mr. Williams,
My outgoing personality, my sales experience, and my recently completed education make me a strong candidate for a position of an insurance broker for National Inc.
I recently graduated from the National University, New York, with a degree in Marketing. I have a more practical approach towards studies which made me well prepared to face the challenges lying ahead. I was the president of both the Future Business Leaders of America and the American Marketing Association.
Although I have recently completed my graduation, I possess a lot of hands-on experience. I attended schools in Chicago, New Jersey and Boston and I've put myself through these schools by taking up jobs in the field of radio advertising, newspaper subscription and even bartending. All of these jobs have only enhanced my formal education.
I have the maturity, skills, and abilities to embark on a career in insurance brokering, and I'd like to do this in Manhattan, my home state.
I will be in New York at the end of this month, and I'd like to talk with you concerning a position at National Inc. I will follow up this letter with a phone call to see if I can arrange a time to meet with you.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Alexis W. Wood,
Senior Student, Marketing,
National University,
Gainesville.

Irvin L. Malinowski,
2457 Maple Avenue,
Boise, ID 83702,

Date: May 1, 2005.
Mr. William A. Smith,
Imperial Consultancy Services,
2682 Hilltop Haven Drive,
Belleville, NJ 07109.
Dear Mr. Smith,
I am a senior at National University majoring in English, and I am extremely interested in a position with Imperial Consultancy Services, upon graduation.
Consulting is definitely the career I want to pursue. Work on my dissertation to this point has involved extensive research, hypothesis formulation, hours of analysis, and team collaboration with my mentor. I understand this process is not unlike the consulting project cycle. In addition, my elective coursework in microeconomics has increased my interest and honed my skills in the business arena. A series of conversations with consultants at various firms - especially National Inc., has confirmed that consulting is the right career for me.
Your organization appeals to me for a number of reasons. I am extremely interested in the life sciences and telecom industries, and Imperial Consultancy Services, is particularly strong in those industries. I am also drawn to the small size of the firm, as I feel it would create more immediate opportunities for leadership and a strong community environment. Finally, I have been incredibly impressed with all of the consultants I've spoken with from your firm; each person is bright yet humble, passionate yet and good-natured. I would be thrilled to join your firm.
I have enclosed my resume for your review. I very much appreciate your time and consideration, and I hope to hear from your team in the near future.
Sincerely,
Irvin L. Malinowski,
Senior Student,
English Literature,
National University.
